Business Week, June 13, Kerry Capell reports that conservatives agree with Michael Moore’s recent film that blasts the U.S. health-care system. In his film, Sicko, Moore’s premise is that the U.S. health care system is worse than any other modern country. His premise is supported by a Commonwealth Fund study that compares the U.S. health-care system with 5 other modern countries. The report states that the U.S. spends more than twice per capita than any other country and falls near the bottom of the list for quality, access, efficiency, equity, and healthy lives. In other words we in the U.S. spend twice what other modern countries do and in return receive the worse health care.
