This July, Claudia Craig Marek, M.A. will present, Emu Oil in the Treatment of Fibromyalgia & Vulvodynia, to medical professionals in conjunction with the American Emu Association’s national convention.

Marek is author of, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Fibromyalgia, and president of the non-profit, Fibromyalgia Treatment Center, based in Los Angeles. She says that common treatments for fibromyalgia includes oral pain-relief medication, nerve blocks, and in some cases surgery and all of which should be avoided if possible. Her suggestion is to use a topical cream, but unfortunately most commonly recommended topical creams contain steroids which is not recommended for the fibro patient. Most creams also contain propylene glycol which can cause extreme burning. Her recommendation for a topical cream is to use emu oil which can be used safely on a daily basis.
